Five British Hobie Dragoons and four Hobie 16s made the long journey out to Lake Como for the Hobie Europeans event from 1-8 August 2009. Seventeen Dragoons, 127 Hobie 16s and several Tigers and other Hobie Cats from all over Europe (and entries from Australia) descended upon Gravedona for a fantastic week of sailing.
The youth teams pulled out some great performances despite very challenging conditions. The stormy weather meant that not all the races were sailed, however Seb and Dan (centre of picture) won the Dragoon class, with Rachel Scarfe & Seb Greber finishing in 6th place in the Hobie 16. The final overall Dragoon results were:
Sailed: 5, Discards: 1, To count: 4, Entries: 16

2 Dragoon 952 Teuntje van Es & Marloes Sprij NED 10.0
3 Dragoon 825 Neiras Johan Robert Solune FRA 20.0
4 Dragoon 673 Patrick Harrison & Benedict Harrison GBR 21.0
5 Dragoon 726 Adam Murphy & Jack Murphy GBR 22.0
Also in the Dragoons, Charles and Harry Willets finished 11th and Jessica and Rhys Cooke finished 15th. In the Hobie 16s, Adam Butler and Nicola Boniface finished 16th, Sam Rowles and Gilly Sutchiffe finished in 23rd place.
